Grace + Christian at Cambria Pines Lodge, CA

Grace Peterson and Christian White were married in the sleepy oceanside town of Cambria, California at the Cambria Pines Lodge on a temperate summer's day in late July. They wanted photos full of color and light, so when they stumbled accross my 35mm film photography, Grace reached out immediately. This blue-skied summer's day with a few whispy clouds was perfect weather for a wedding in a northern California town often known for her thick blankets of fog. What luck!

Their wedding theme was characterized by green accent colors, blue and white flowers, and an elegant garden party vibe as they held their ceremony outdoors in front of the Cambria Pines Lodge Gazebo and surrounding wildflower garden - the perfect stage to say "I do"! A later visit to the reception hall revealed the second act - a Lord of the Rings inspired banquet hall repleat with lush green trappings and fun details such as the seating chart mimicking a map of Middle Earth.

Cambria Pines Lodge was the perfect backdrop for Grace + William's wedding - full of rich charm already, it's cozy cottage atmosphere with a side of mountain lodge accents and beautiful back gardens gave the couple ample variety for hosting and beautiful pictures. The ceremony felt like it was held ina fairy garden as guests sat before the stately gazebo and Grace walked down the asile in the most beautiful lace wedding gown, boasting an epic train that perfectly matched the garden aesthetic. SHrouded in golden afternoon light, the couple positively glowed as they pledged their love to one another before their loved ones.

Shortly thereafter, guests were able to enjoy cocktail hour in the garden courtyard right next to the ceremony set up. They indulged in delicious horderves provided by the lodge kitchen staff and drank from the open bar while the couple took photos with their family and bridal party in a second nearby garden. Grace positively glowed when we captured her bridal portraits in the golden sunlight & William was beaming at her in every photo - their own personal fairy tale wedding playing out in real time.

The indoor banquet hall reception was rich and full of laughter and story swapping as guests ate their fill and celebrated the bride and groom with toasts, speeches and much applause. Grace did a dress swap for the reception and re-appeared in a marvelous green fairy gown painted in wildflowers - a very elvish twist that fell right in line with the ethos of the reception! The couple danced, cut their cake together and welcomed their guests onto the dance floor after dinner. We took goofy photos of every table for an added bit of fun that Grace and William could enjoy looking back on when they recieved the film scans. Here are some of my favorite snapshots from their all film wedding day - enjoy!
