Behind the Photographer
I’m Taylor, a documentary film photographer based in California.
Masterpieces don’t happen overnight, and I believe that rings true for photography. I’m obsessed with intentionality, and in a digital world inundated with information and results-driven data, vintage film forces us to slow down and be deliberate.
This is the magic of film.
I love the way film captures people and places. Film holds an intrinsic depth that digital can never compete with. Film is produced by a very physical, chemical reaction. As humans, we are ourselves made up of chemical reactions and energy waves on a physical level because we are tangible creatures. You will find the colors of film photography are richer, the tones deeper, the light thicker, the textures more tangible, the emotions palpable.
